Freddie Santos has been involved with the performing arts for over thirty years, winning twice the Aliw Award for Best Stage Director in the country. Although Santos has loved classical music and opera since he was a child, Santos he joined Repertory Philippines to become one of its busiest actors and assistant directors. Santos appeared in more than a hundred professional theater productions with theater affiliations including the Repertory Philippines, Teatro Pilipino, SRO Philippines, and the Repertory Philippines. He has written, directed and designed more than 400 pop, rock-and-roll and classical, and rock-and-roll concerts featuring the country's best solo acts like Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Janno Gibbs. He was also behind the most successful productions of bands like the Dawn, Neo Colours and Tux. Santos also directed a slew of international artists, including Grammy award-winning gospel singers Sandi Patti, Scott Wesley Brown and First Call.

When he began TRUMPETS, Asia's leading gospel stage company, he infused into its productions the crossover touch for which he is renowned. Trumpets productions have won numerous awards and are famed for edginess and high ability to mix and match stage formats from classic Broadway to MTV. His productions are the most successful stage musicals in Philippine theater history with "Joseph, The Dreamer," "First Name," and “Widows, Orphans and Wildebeests.” Despite all the shows, Santos makes extra time to write songs in partnership with pop composer Louie Ocampo with hits including, Yakapin Mo Ako, Could You Be Messiah?, and No Sky Too Big. He wrote and directed for television, social events and concerts honoring luminaries such as PM Mahathir Mohammad and HRH Prince Charles. He has worked on several original musicals one of which is a new production inspired by the artworks of Filipino modernist Bencab, and the other, a monumental stage trilogy on the lives of Renaissance greats Michelangelo, da Vinci and Raphael collectively entitled Il Divino. Reaching out to the next generation of show lovers, he has focused his energies on a new staging of "Joseph, The Dreamer," "First Name," and the concert series Cerrudo: Stage and Screen, now touted as the most successful concert series of 2007 with carry-over performances in 2008.
